I guess anyone who has access to the computer and access to the internet.
Initially I intended to create a website for education in anesthesia as I am an anesthesiologist. However, I have several young children who have a more immediate need. I got tired of making sight word flashcards only to have them strewn around the house etc, sooo, I sat down and put them on the web. Along the way I found that other parents found the site useful as well so here it is.
I do not intend for this site to be used for teaching per se. Rather, an aid for reinforcement. I think it will be most useful to children if the parents sit down and go through the words and math with their children and help them until they can go through them quickly. I try to spend 10-15 minutes per night and go over 20-25 words in that time.
No matter how much we dislike memorization there will always be a component of that in learning. I myself am horrible at pure memorization. Studying pharmacology in medical school was awful simply because it involved sitting down flipping through flashcards and memorizing, memorizing. Then on the test regurgitating, regurgitating, ... But, there was no way around it. I thought using a computer to make that process of memorizing a little more passive it would enable one to tolerate the pain a little better. You may disagree and search for web sites with more bells and whistles.
It's a hobby. I was an enginner before I was a physician. My children use it frequently to reinforce sight words and basic math. I believe they have advanced quite a bit because of it.
